Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana is a beneficial initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh aimed at encouraging self-employment among educated unemployed youth in rural areas. Under this scheme, financial assistance in the form of a loan up to ₹10 lakhs is provided to help individuals start their own business.

General category applicants need to contribute only 10% of the total project cost, while SC/ST/OBC and other reserved category applicants are required to contribute just 5%. The remaining amount is provided by the government as a loan.

The scheme especially emphasizes empowering technically trained individuals, traditional artisans, and women interested in entrepreneurship. Priority is given to those who have completed ITI, Polytechnic, or vocational education, and those registered with employment offices.

Key Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicant’s age should be between 18 to 50 years.

• Educated unemployed youth whose age limit for government jobs has expired.

• ITI/Polytechnic diploma holders or technically trained youth.

• Women interested in starting their own business.

• Traditional artisans and youth trained under government schemes like SGSY.

• Candidates must be registered with the employment office.

• Preference is given to units that produce items of daily use for local consumers.

• 50% of the beneficiaries will be from SC/ST/OBC categories.
