Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) run by the Government of India, financial assistance is provided to rural families who
do not have toilets in their homes. The goal of the scheme is to make all villages free from open defecation.
Eligible beneficiaries can apply online for toilet construction under this scheme. After the application, verification is done at the local panchayat or block level, and then the subsidy amount is directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account.
Eligibility may include BPL families, Antyodaya cardholders, EWS category rural households, and families identified in sanitation surveys.
